They%u2019ve participated in a wide variety of engaging experiences which have been instrumental in developing their social and cognitive skills. Through music and dance, they%u2019ve unlocked new methods of communication, effectively sharing information with peers. Additionally, by engaging in activities that challenge their gross and fine motor skills, they%u2019ve demonstrated significant progress. This year, a strong focus has been placed on self-help skills, and it%u2019s evident that the children have embraced this, growing more independent along the way.Throughout the year, the 4 year old kinder children have experienced a range of memorable moments that contributed significantly to their learning and development. One of the exciting activities was writing letters to the Olympians, fostering communication and literacy skills. Visits to the Prep classrooms provided a glimpse into the next step of their educational journey, helping to ease the transition to Primary School. The children enjoyed weekly Library sessions every Monday, nurturing a love for reading through receiving books from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Colourful highlights included Rainbow Slothy, the takehome class pet, which encouraged responsibility and care.Engagement with the community was strengthened by visits from the Police, participating in the Anzac Day ceremony, and learning about water safety during the Knox Leisure Works incursion. The Living Safely with Dogs program and the dentist visit emphasized safety and health awareness. Special days such as Mother%u2019s Day, Father%u2019s Day, and Dressup days enriched social and emotional development. They also enjoyed many outings such as trips to the Post Office, Op Shop, Woolies, Boronia Library, Music Garden, and interaction with Grade 5 buddies highlighted social skills development. The excitement extended to excursions to Kmart to participate in spreading kindness by putting presents under the wishing tree.Thank you to all of the ELC families for a wonderful Kinder year. We can%u2019t wait to see everyone%u2019s first day of school photos early in the new year. Michelle, Dawn, Vanessa and Erin
