It has been fantastic to see how they have actively engaged in opportunities including our Year 7 Transition Camp, Year 9 Buttercup Camp, the Intergen Program, City Experience, Music Performances, cohort afternoons and English and Maths extension opportunities. These experiences have allowed students to demonstrate our College values of Community, Achievement, Respect and Lifelong Learning. In their learning, students have consistently demonstrated a positive attitude, taking on opportunities to extend their knowledge and deepen their understanding in all curriculum areas. We have been especially proud to see students seeking out opportunities, such as attending Homework Club, to ensure they are up to date with their work and know the next steps for their learning. We also thank our staff who help facilitate these sessions and for the work that they put into developing rigorous and engaging curriculum for all classes. As we head into 2025, we are excited for the roll out of our new elective program which will see students working in multi-age classes with their peers. This will allow them to experience a broader range of electives and build their capacity to work with different groups of people. We cannot wait to see the learning that happens in these classes.A special thank you to our outgoing 2024 Middle School Leaders who have consistently demonstrated our College values and participated in a variety of activities to support the College. We also want to take a moment to congratulate our incoming leaders for 2025, we know that Matthew, Mitchell and Cj will continue the fantastic work and uphold our College expectations as they help lead our students and contribute to the Student Voice Team.More broadly, we wish to congratulate all students on their efforts and achievements throughout 2024. Even when faced with challenges, you demonstrated resilience and a willingness to overcome, which we know will support you as you move into the next stage of your learning journey. To our parents and caregivers, thank you for your ongoing support as we partner together to support our students, we know that your support is integral to student success and growth both personal and academic. We hope that everyone has a safe and happy Christmas and New Year and we look forward to seeing everyone back in 2025.Riana BaenschDirector of Teaching and Learning %u2013 Middle SchoolLyle D%u2019Rozario Director of Middle SchoolYear 7 ReportA big congratulations to our Year 7 students as you come to the end of your first year in high school. We have been so impressed with the way that you transitioned to high school, learning the new day to day rhythm and flow.We kicked off the year with our Transition Camp, which was an action packed three days where students demonstrated their ability to work as a team, build new friendships and be open to new experiences. This also allowed our staff to build connections with students that then helped us to support learning back in the classroom. As a cohort, our Year 7s have continued to develop a strong sense of connectedness supporting one another throughout the year. We have been so impressed to see them work towards achieving their personal best, both within and outside the classroom. Having been on multiple KIOSC excursions and through engagement in the Intergen Program, we have also been impressed with the way that our students have represented our College. We wish you all the best as you step into Year 8 in 2025.Riana Baensch Director of Teaching and Learning - Middle School Year 7 Level Leader
